Screw conveyor is divided into shaft screw conveyor and shaftless screw conveyor in conveying form, and is divided into U-shape screw conveyor and tube type screw conveyor in appearance. Shaft screw conveyor is suitable for non-viscous dry powder materials and small particle materials (such as cement, coal ash, lime, grain, etc.), while shaftless screw conveyor is suitable for viscous and easily wound materials, (e.g. sludge, biomass, garbage, etc.). The working principle of the screw conveyor is that the rotating screw blade pushes the material and carry out the screw transport. The force that prevents the material from rotating with the screw conveyor blade is the gravity of the material and the friction resistance of the screw conveyor shell to the material. The face shapes of the screw blade that welded on the screw conveyor rotating shaft have solid surface type, belt surface type, blade surface type and other types according to the different conveying materials. The screw shaft of the screw conveyor has a thrust bearing at the end of the direction of material movement to react with the axial force of the material to the screw. For longer distances, intermediate hanging bearings should be added.
Technical Features:
Simple structure, small cross section size, good sealing, reliable work, low manufacturing cost, easy to intermediate loading and unloading, conveying direction can be reversed, and also can be conveyed in the opposite two directions at the same time. During the conveying process, the material can also be stirred, mixed, heated and cooled. Material flow can be adjusted through loading and unloading gates. However, it is not suitable to transport easily metamorphic, viscous, easy to caking and large materials. In the conveying process, the material is easy to break, and the screw and groove are easy to wear. The unit power is large. In use, it is necessary to maintain the tightness of the tank and the appropriate gap between the spiral and the tank.
Vertical screw conveyor is suitable for short distance vertical conveying. The screw of the flexible screw conveyor is composed of a flexible shaft and a synthetic rubber blade, which is easy to bend and can be arranged arbitrarily according to the site or process requirements for space transportation. The screw conveyor blade has a current pull type and a full pull type, the current pull type can ben made into any thickness and specification size, the full pull type is not suitable for making non-standard screw.
According to the angle of conveying material displacement direction, the screw conveyor is divided into two types: horizontal screw conveyor and vertical screw conveyor. It is mainly used for horizontal conveying and vertical lifting of various loose materials such as powder, granular and small block, but this type of screw conveyor is not suitable for conveying special materials that are easy to deteriorate, sticky, easy to caking or high temperature, afraid of pressure, and have greater corrosion.
The screw conveyor is generally composed of three parts: conveyor body, inlet and outlet and driving device; the spiral blade of the screw conveyor has three forms: solid spiral surface, belt spiral surface and blade spiral surface, of which the blade spiral surface is relatively less applied, mainly used for conveying materials with large viscosity and compressibility, this kind of screw surface type in the process of completing the conveying operation, at the same time has and completes the material mixing, stirring and other functions.
Compared with other conveying equipment, screw conveyor has the advantages of small cross-section size, good sealing performance, stable and reliable operation, intermediate multi-point loading and unloading, safe operation, easy maintenance and so on.
Working Principle:
When the screw shaft rotates, due to the gravity of the material and the friction generated between the material and tank wall, the material can only move forward along the bottom of the conveyor trough under the push of the blade, which is like a nut that cannot rotate moves in translation along the rotating screw. The migration of the material in the middle bearing depends on the thrust of the material moving forward behind it. Therefore, the transport of materials in the conveyor is completely a sliding movement. In order to make the screw shaft in a more favorable tension state, the drive device and the discharge port are generally placed o the same end of the conveyor, and the feed port is placed near the tail of the other end as far as possible. The rotating spiral blade will push the material and transport it, the force that makes the material not rotate with the spiral conveyor blade is the material's own weight and the friction resistance of the spiral conveyor shell to the material. According to the different conveying materials, there are solid surface type, belt surface type, blade surface type and other types. a.Vertical Screw Conveyor
The rotation speed of the spiral body of the vertical screw conveyor is higher than that of the ordinary screw conveyor, and the friction between the material and the housing is generated under the action of centrifugal force, which prevents the material from rotating with the spiral blade and overcomes the gravity of the material falling, so as to achieve the vertical conveying of the material. The conveying capacity of the machine is small, the conveying height is small, the speed is high, and the energy consumption is large. It is especially suitable for conveying fine granular materials with good fluidity, mainly used for lifting materials, and the lifting height is generally not more than 8 meters.
b.Horizontal Screw Conveyor
When the material is added to the fixed groove, due to the gravity of the material and the friction between the groove and the material, the material accumulated in the lower part of the groove does not rotate with the spiral body, but only move forward under the rotation of the spiral blade, as the nut that cannot rotate moves in translation along the rotating screw to achieve the purpose of conveying materials. The material is convenient for multi-point loading and unloading, and can be mixed, stirred or cooled at the same time during the conveying process. It's suitable for transporting overloaded sensitive, easy to jam, easily broken materials. Horizontal screw conveyor structure is simple, easy to install, maintenance and troubleshooting. It's suitable for horizontal or slightly inclined (below 20 degree) continuous and uniform conveying of loose materials, the working environment temperature is -20-+40ºC, and the conveying material temperature is -20-+80ºC. Its speed is low relative to the vertical conveyor, mainly used for horizontal or small angle conveying materials, conveying distance is generally not more than 70 meters.
c. Screw Tube (Roller Conveyor) Conveyor
The screw tube conveyor is a type of conveyor that continuous spiral blades are welded in a cylindrical shell, and the shell rotates with the spiral blades. Due to the action of centrifugal force and friction force, the added material rotates together with the housing and is lifted, and then slides along the spiral surface under the action of gravity of the material, so that the material rotates together with the spiral tube to realize the forward movement of the material, as the non-rotating screw moves in translation along the rotating nut to achieve the purpose of conveying materials.
The machine has low energy consumption and low maintenance cost; when feeding at the end, it can adapt to the uneven feeding requirements, and can complete various process requirements such as conveying, mixing and stirring at the same time, and there will be no blocking phenomenon when the material enters too much; and easy to multi-point loading and unloading, can transport high temperature materials. It is suitable for horizontal conveying of high temperature materials; it has good adaptability to high temperature, uneven feed, anti-crushing and anti-pollution materials and the process of multi-point loading and unloading. Practice has proved that it has good effect in conveying materials such as cement clinker, dry limestone, phosphate rock, ilmenite powder, coal and slag.
The particle size of the material added by the end feed port shall not be greater than 1/4 of the spiral diameter; the particle size of the material fed from the middle inlet shall not be greater than 30mm. In order to ensure that the cylinder does not deform, the feeding temperature must be controlled below 300ºC. The wear of blades and chutes is extremely serious when conveying materials with large grinding properties. It's not suitable to use the screw tube conveyor to transport silicon powder with great grinding.
d. Flexible Screw Conveyor
The spindle of the screw body is flexible, so the transmission line can be arranged into a curve according to the space. According to the length proportion of the horizontal and vertical (large inclination) section in the layout of the line, its working principle is designed according to the ordinary screw conveyor or vertical screw conveyor.
Because the conveying line is arbitrarily arranged according to the space curve, the occasion of material transfer is avoided. When too much material or hard material is entered into the housing, the screw will float freely without jamming; low noise. The machine is mainly used for horizontal and vertical conveying of materials at the same time. Vertical transmission generally requires a high speed, not less than 1000r/min.
