1. Classification by use:

a. Trough roller: It is mainly used in load-bearing parts of belt-conveyor, the groove design can effectively prevent the material from dropping in the process of delivery. Common models include 89*190*220, 108*375*408, etc., where the numbers respectively represent the diameter, length and groove height of the roller (unit: mm).
b. Parallel rollers: It is divided into the upper roller and lower roller and is used to prop and guide conveyor belt. Common models include 89*600*640, 108*1150*1200, etc., where the numbers respectively represent the diameter and length of the roller ( unit: mm).
c. Self-aligning roller: It has the function of automatically adjusting the running deviation of the conveyor belt to ensure the stable operation of the belt. Common models are similar with trough and parallel rollers but are specially labeled as the "aligning" type. 
d.  Impact roller: It is used to reduce the impact of material to the conveyor belt to protect belt and rollers. The impact roller also has a variety of specifications, and its diameter and bearing models are similar with the ordinary rollers. Common models include 89*190*220 and so on. However, the design of the impact roller pays more attention to the protection and cushioning of the conveyor belt, so its structure and materials may be different from ordinary rollers. The length of the impact roller is also customized according to the specific requirements.
e.  Ordinary roller: According to the Chinese national standard, the roller diameter is divided into Φ76, Φ89, Φ108, Φ133, Φ159, Φ194, Φ219 and other specifications. Roller lengths vary according to the specific needs, for example, for Φ89 rollers, its length may have 180, 190, 200 and several other specifications; and for Φ219 rollers, its length may reach 2200, 2500, 2800, etc. The bearing models may vary according to the different roller diameter and carrying capacity of the rollers, and the commonly used ones are 204, 205, 305, 306, etc.
f. Other special type of roller: In addition to ordinary roller and impact roller, there are also tapered self-aligning roller, comb cleaning roller, spiral roller and other special types of rollers.
